I'm Amanda Owens, a watercolor and acrylic artist based in Huntsville, Alabama. My work is rooted in a love of color, light, and the quiet beauty found in everyday places — from the rolling hills of the South to the architectural details of a beloved home.

My Story

What began as a personal creative practice has grown into a full studio business with over 1,695 sales and a community of collectors and art lovers across the country. I opened my Etsy shop in 2019, and what started as a way to share my work with a wider audience quickly became something much more meaningful — a connection with people who wanted original art and handcrafted pieces in their homes and lives.

Today, Amanda Owens Art is home to original paintings, fine art prints, greeting cards, scripture card sets, and custom house portraits — each piece made with intention and care.

The Process

I work primarily in watercolor and acrylic, two mediums that couldn't be more different — and yet both challenge me in ways I love. Watercolor rewards patience and surrender; you learn to work with the paint as much as you direct it. Acrylic gives me boldness and layering, the ability to build depth and texture over time.

Whether I'm painting a loose landscape study or a detailed architectural portrait, my goal is always the same: to create something that feels alive, warm, and worth living with.

Rooted in Alabama

Huntsville is a city of surprising beauty and creative energy, and it's very much a part of who I am as an artist. The South's light, landscape, and culture show up in my palette and my subject matter — and I'm proud to create work that celebrates this place I call home.

My studio is also home to a line of licensed collegiate gifts celebrating Auburn University and the University of Alabama — two institutions with passionate, loyal communities that I'm honored to create for.
