Behind the Art: Scripture Cards
Back in 2020, when the world was in upheaval and we all didn't know where we would get our next roll of toilet paper, the Lord began a good-hard work in my life.
During those months, I struggled with panic and anxiety. Every morning, the dread, racing heart, sick stomach would greet me.
I was seeking the Lord, actively reading my Bible and praying for any relief. When going through this trial, it was a blessing to remind myself of truth. I started to "write" down scriptures that the Lord put on my heart. I kept it in my "notes" app on my phone and when the lies would come, I opened up that app and meditated on the Word. Because, here's the deal, feelings are not truth...the word of the Lord is!
And, that is where my Combat Scripture cards came from. No- not immediately. It was the sweet time after that trial had ebbed, that I could sit with those scriptures and pair them with beauty. I painted these calming landscapes but paired them with the strong truths that sustained me.
Crazy how things work out, right?
